June: Providing Cash Relief to Families in our Community with the Immigrant Emergency Relief Program

For this month’s Stories from the Field we talked to Carlos Chacon, one of our Excluded Workers Fund (EWF) navigators.

As you might remember, a high demand for aid depleted New York’s initial EWF Fund quickly, and many immigrant workers and their families were once again left out of receiving much needed financial aid. The NYC COVID-19 Immigrant Emergency Relief Program was created to provide direct cash assistance to those immigrant New Yorkers hardest hit by the economic crisis of the pandemic.

So please join us on Tuesday June 7th, 2022, 6:30pm at the Jalopy Theatre, to honor our frontline workers who kept the Food Pantry and Action NYC Immigration Law Projects running throughout the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

You can purchase tickets for the in-person or live-stream event here. Thank you for supporting our work, and contributing to the CFL’s ongoing mission of supporting the families of Sunset Park.

Jalopy will be following all state and city distancing and capacity guidelines, along with providing UV powered air filtration and adequate ventilation. We will also be requiring all who attend to show us proof of full vaccination. Attendees must follow all mask, distancing and hand washing guidelines when in attendance.
