Counselor-in-Training Programs
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) and Leaders-in-Training (LIT) activities provide high school youth, age 14 to 19, with valuable work experience serving as role models for younger children. Our program provides career exploration, college preparation, academic support, and personal and social development activities. CITs/LITs assist group leaders and activity specialists in our after school and Neighborhood Center programs. The program provides job-related skill development and leadership training through an intensive orientation, weekly Leadership Training meetings, and an annual Leadership Retreat. Weekly “Club” Discussion Groups provide personal and academic support, incorporating college and career awareness activities, life skills workshops, and peer discussion.
